We sing not to perform, but for the pure joy of singing.
No experience with singing is necessary
We sing and dance songs which connect us to nature, and to our own true nature,
including chants from many spiritual traditions and songs by director
Kathleen Hannan and other songwriters.
Chorus singers find ourselves relaxed and refreshed
as we turn our awareness towards our hearts, and delight
in the community that singing together creates.
Whether you are singing your first shy notes, or experimenting with harmonizing
and improvising, there is always something new to explore
as we deepen into the territory of the Heart.
We invite you to join us in the adventure we call Chorus.
You'll find testimonials from Chorus singers here.

The info below relates to our pre-covid
in-person chorus, and will not be relevant
until we move back indoors!
1.
Carrboro Chorus
Carrboro/Chapel Hill * Wednesdays 7-9 pm
We meet at Arcadia Co-Housing Community's Common House at
134 Circadian Way, Chapel Hill, 27516.
Our parking situation has changed recently, in order to make it possible for us to remain singing at Arcadia. which we love! Thanks so much for your support in this new way of parking...
So that the residents of Arcadia will have enough parking spots, we are now parking in a nearby street and walking a short path through the woods. Chorus members have found this very easy to do. And there will be a few parking spaces at Arcadia for those whose physical needs don't allow that short walk through the woods. Please let me know if you do have physical needs that will require you to have a parking spot at Arcadia. And everyone else, please contact Kathleen for the new parking map!
And please carpool if you can!
You can begin chorus at any time during the season.
To register please contact Kathleen, or you can come
and sign in at chorus. Please scroll down for payment info.

You can begin chorus at any time during the season.

Chorus registration fee
plus voluntary donations
to Chorus Housing Fund
Your chorus fee is a subscription to the entire season, which includes chorus notes (song lyrics, photos, youtube links, song history and spiritual poetry) which come each week. By paying for the entire season, you are supporting my work and also supporting scholarships for those who cannot pay the full fee.
Please contact me if you need scholarship support.
No one is turned away for lack of funds!
For those who can only come up to three times in a season,
there is a guest rate of $15-20 per evening.
You are welcome to try out chorus at the guest rate
before deciding whether to continue.
And for those new to chorus, your cost will be prorated
to reflect your starting date if you start mid season.
Chorus Housing Fund Voluntary Donations
Our housing costs are larger than they were in past years.
In order to keep chorus affordable for everyone, I ask your help
in funding chorus housing through voluntary donations.
I put all your donations into a dedicated housing bank account,
so that whatever extra we raise in a season goes towards future seasons.
The weekly cost of space use for both choruses is $75.
Can you sponsor one or more evenings?
Or half or quarter of an evening?
Thanks so much to the many generous women who have donated for
housing in the past, and thank you in advance to those of you who can
contribute this season to keep chorus housed, affordable and accessible for everyone!
